문학의 비인간 윤리 — 스튜디오는 인간의 범주에 완전히 속하지 않는 존재들에 대해 문학과 함께 사유하기 위한 연구·아카이빙 공간입니다. 인간 중심적 세계관이 놓치기 쉬운 감각과 책임의 영역을, 문학 속 비인간의 자리에서 다시 묻고자 합니다. 비인간을 말한다는 것이 단지 새로운 대상의 추가가 아니라, 인간이 세계와 관계 맺는 방식—소유, 돌봄, 폭력, 의존, 공존, 그리고 때로는 무관심—을 재조정하는 일이라고 믿습니다. 이 스튜디오는 문학이 만들어 내는 감각의 장을 따라가며, 인간과 비인간 사이에 재설정되는 관계의 규칙과 윤리의 조건을 탐색합니다.

Posthumanism and literature in contact.
The Literary Ethics of the Nonhuman — Studio is a space for research and archiving, where we think with literature about beings that do not fully belong to the category of “the human.” From the standpoint of the nonhuman in literary texts, we ask again about the domains of sensibility and responsibility that a human-centered worldview too easily overlooks. We believe that speaking of the nonhuman is not simply adding new objects of attention; it is a way of recalibrating how humans relate to the world—possession, care, violence, dependence, coexistence, and at times, indifference. Following the sensory field that literature unfolds, this studio explores the rules of relation and the conditions of ethics as they are reconfigured between the human and the nonhuman.
What we do
- Criticism / Essays: Critical writing on the nonhuman, thingness/materiality, alterity, posthuman ethics, and new materialist sensibilities
- Research Archive: Building and organizing works, concepts, keywords, bibliographies, and teaching materials
- Projects / Workshops: Small practices of reading–writing–discussion to renew the language of ethics
- Education / Curriculum: Developing text-based materials for university courses in writing, culture, and literature
Questions we care about
- How can the nonhuman in literature speak of itself—and through what forms or conditions?
- After the human–nonhuman relation is reconfigured, how should ethics be rethought?
- In what ways do objects, animals, technologies, and environments exercise agency in texts and generate “events”?
Operating principles
- We value not only finished outcomes but also the pathways of thought and the slow accumulation of materials.
- Drafts and unfinished manuscripts are not shared publicly; when needed, we choose formats and levels of access with care.
Rather than offering a single conclusion, this studio stays with the ethical questions that literature opens up—
slowly, and with close attention.
